Edward J. Doyle Police Headquarters is the City of Maitland, Florida’s new Police Headquarters building. Designed in a modern art deco style it was the first of three major civic buildings for the City of Maitland. The Police Headquarters was designed to meet the City’s requirements for sustainability, durability, growth, functionality, and beauty. The facility is U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Gold Certified and was the recipient of U.S. Green Building Council’s project of the year award. The headquarters is 17,300 sf on two levels and constructed at a cost of $5.2 million. The project was delivered on time and under budget. The work completed with a former firm, ACI. Bruce Otte served in a Project Manager / Project Architect role.

Maitland’s Fire and Rescue Station 45 is located in downtown Maitland adjacent to the new City Hall. Designed in a tradition rich federal style, the building is 3 stories in height and is 15,500 sf in area. The facility houses 3 apparatus bays, training room, administration offices, sleeping and living quarters for the fire rescue personnel, and a rooftop repelling deck. The site work included designing the facility to provide rear entrance and front exiting for the apparatus bays, demolition of the existing fire and police station buildings, and preservation of an existing Centennial Oak Tree. The project implemented sustainable design practices and obtained LEED Silver Certification with the U.S. Green Building Council. The work completed with a former firm, ACI. Bruce Otte served in a Project Manager / Program Manager role in creating design intent documents and the Owner’s design representative during construction of this Design/Build project. Wharton-Smith was the Design/Build contractor.

Maitland’s City Hall. The last of the 3 major civic buildings in Maitland Florida, the City Hall building designed in Italian Mediterranean style provides the City a durable, functional, and beautiful facility to proudly serve the citizens of Maitland for years to come. The 24,000 sf facility includes 3 levels of office and conference spaces to serve the City’s administrative needs and a modernized grand council chambers. The building layout was chosen to protect and preserve many large existing oak trees. Utilizing green design and construction practices the building achieved LEED Silver Certification with the U.S. Green Building Council. The building was completed on time and on budget as were all 3 of the Maitland civic buildings. The work completed with a former firm, ACI. Bruce Otte served in a Project Manager / Program Manager role in creating design intent documents and Owner’s design representative during construction of this Design/Build project. Wharton-Smith was the Design/Build contractor.
